“The Persian Pickle Club” is a major motion picture based on the novel by New York Times bestselling author Sandra Dallas. The novel is set in the 1930s, where hard times have hit Harveyville, Kansas. The crops are burning up, and there’s not a job to be found.
For Queenie Bean, a young farm wife, a highlight of each week is the gathering of the Persian Pickle Club, a group of local ladies dedicated to improving their minds, exchanging gossip, and putting their quilting skills to good use.
When a new member of the club stirs up a dark secret, the women must band together to support and protect one another. In her magical, memorable novel, Sandra Dallas explores the ties that unite women through good times and bad. The New York Times says “A colorful exploration of Depression-era Kansas and the meaning of friendship.”
This is a must read book and a film worth waiting for. Catch a glimpse of the film at https://www.facebook.com/PersianPMovie?sk=app_208195102528120.

When embroidering on apparel for infants and children, you need a stabilizer that will be soft and comfortable against their skin. HTC Retail offers Easy Stitch for just this purpose. It’s made of super soft 100% polypropylene and ensures that the wearer will never know it’s there. Because it is manufactured without formaldehyde, it is safe for children and better for the environment. It also is inherently fire retardant.
Easy Stitch is washable and dry-cleanable once the excess is torn away. Excess material may melt in the dryer or in the dry-cleaning process. It comes in a 1.8-ounce weight and will support low stitch counts on any type of children’s wear fabrics such as jersey, interlock, 100% cotton or cotton/polyester blends. It comes in a 24-inch width by 40-yard bolt.
For more information, visit http://www.htc-retail.com or call (678) 514 0400; (800) 275-4275; fax: (678) 510 0349: e-mail: firstname.lastname@example.org.

This inspired idea for a Relay for Life makeup bag comes from Nancy Zieman’s blog. Zieman’s son asked her to create something for his college fund-raiser, and this is the creative result. Zieman choose a design from the Embroider A Cure collection, which features 20 support ribbon embroidery designs, a product from Designs in Machine Embroidery.
Detailed instructions for constructing this project can be found on Zieman’s blog at http://www.nancyzieman.com/blog/machine-embroidery/be-the-difference-makeup-bag/.
To make this project, you can use Eco-Stick, which is a 1.5-ounce “wet laid” nonwoven stabilizer with a biodegradable adhesive. Form-Flex All Purpose is a durable press, fusible woven interfacing made of 100% cotton that offers firm support and stability. Both products can be found at http://www.htc-retail.com/index.php.
